Get to Know Wish: ShylaPublished February 23, 2017 by Eva Tanenbaum in All Things Dance, Wishful Thinking
At A Wish Come True our coworkers and our customers feel like family. So we thought it was time for you to get to know our family.
Meet Shyla! She is a youth minister at her church, goofy song-creator and loves to create beauty all around her.
Q: What’s your job title? describe what you do.
A: Senior Pattern Maker. I turn our designs on paper into physical garments and make sure they fit perfectly.
Q: What’d the most fun part of your job/day?
A: When the designers see their costume and LOVES it.
Q: Do you have a fun or funny memory from working at ‘Wish’?
A: Anytime we put the costumes on ourselves, over our clothes and act silly. Tutus look great on the head! And extra small child shorts look hilarious over jeans.
Q: Did you dance as a kid? Do you still dance?
A: I could not afford to, but I absolutely love dance. I am often the first one on the dance floor. In another life I think I will be a choreographer.
Q: What did you want to be when you grew up?
A: In high school I decided to be a math teacher since I was always the one helping my classmates. But I did have a hidden love for evening wear and sewing.
Q: Where and for what did you go to school for?
A: Fashion Design at the Art Institute of Philadelphia, after I realized mathematics was not my calling.
Q: Did you have a different job before ‘Wish’?
Q: What are a few of your favorite things?
A: Movies, fresh baked cookies, naps and friends.
Q: What’s your spirit animal?
A: A Giraffe. I do have a naturally long neck.
Q: Who are your favorite artists and favorite songs?
